The protests are growing but will marching just be enough to drive Gold Sullivan and Brady out of the club, it is easy for them to ignore as they have the season ticket money, they have 50,000 fans in the stadium and more (supposedly) waiting to come. So what is the next step, no pun intended, that will put pressure on the owners to leave the club, or at least, get them to remove Brady from her position and implement proper changes in the management structure of the club.
Sullivan’s loyalty to Brady stems from the perception is good at her job, and her job is to bring the money into the club. Looking at the accounts, the off the field income while not comparing to the TV generated income in any way is growing, so Brady is achieving in their eyes what she is supposed to do, but what If that revenue stream was to come under pressure, what if it started to dwindle or was embroiled in negative press to the point that the corporate partners as they are known, withdraw their support or funding.
How much pressure would that bring to bear on the owners to make the change a lot of the fans want?
#BRADYOUT
Why do companies want to ally themselves to premier league football clubs, mainly for the exposure it gives their brand, The PL goes around the world but quite a few of the partners are not international companies, so what do they expect? One thing they expect is access to the supposedly ever-growing West Ham fan base. The club will advertise those companies on their social media channels, as seen by the clubs recent advertisement for EVA air, so it seems the fan base is the reason the companies tie-up with the club.
Marching and protesting alone will not achieve the change, as good a tool as it is in exposing the strength and the numbers now wanting change is it time for something different.
BOYCOTT THE CORPORATE PARTNERS.Firstly, don’t use betway, many other bookies are willing to take your money, take any money you may have in your account out then stop using it. If you have the app on your phone, delete it, possibly publicly show you’ve deleted it making sure you let betway know that you have done it and why. You won't support any club partner while the owners and especially Brady is in charge.
The list of partners is bigger than I realised but everyone needs to be listed and blacklisted and told on social media they will be blacklisted until the owners make the change or go, preferably both but ill take Brady going as a start.
The Full list I have gleaned from the clubs website is as follows
Principal Partner – Betway, Technical Partner – Umbro, Sleeve Partner – Basset & Gold.
Official partners are Lycramobile, Monster energy drink, Scope Markets, ZOHO (not got a clue what they do to be fair), Experience Kissimmee and Eva Air.
Don’t drink Heineken, should be easy, Don’t use Socios, utilita, Global Reach or Vanquish tech.
The list goes on, ITD Global, OSONYQ energy drink, N1RVANA event logistics, Hawes & Curtis, Paul Robinson solicitors.
Madison Recruitment, London Event Design, IVACY VPN, Soccer Supplements, Quattro Group and finally, Global Image Sports.
Now, I realise that most of us won't use those companies anyway, but by negatively associating them with the club and publicly saying you won't use them if you need to will plant a seed of doubt in those companies. No company likes negative exposure or being associated with anything like that, so by publicly blacklisting those companies the fanbase will by doing so bring pressure on the ownership.
This is extreme, but being extreme is what it will take, and as the owners look at the money line first and foremost, once that takes a hit then it will concentrate their mind into change.
Support the team, not the regime.
The correct mantra of the protests so far, we are supporters of West Ham United football club and the most important part of that is the football team itself.
If we boycotted the stadium then that could create a negative effect on the team, something the current protests are at pains to point out is not what is wanted.
If the blacklist works and achieves a cut in the income will that be a detriment to the team? Well, money from TV and tickets make up the majority of the money needed to run the club and enable it to continue in the transfer market, so the blacklist will not hinder the team in any large scale.
I fully expect to receive criticism from the fanbase that are happy with the ownership but
the blacklist/boycott idea is showing the corporate partners and the ownership that the fans support West Ham football club, not West Ham business club.
